poetry

lunch break haikus #1

I tell god
that I
think about sex
all day
he tells me
it’s ok

//

my kids pray at night
for me to stop
cursing
I’m soft
on the inside

//

people riding bikes
the wrong way
on the sidewalk:
one day
I’ll get you

//

“I knew you were
trouble when
I saw you,”
he said to me
he meant it

//

every minute
feels like an hour
“non-possessive love”
I’ll wait

//

he told me all the
right things but
I compare him
to you
anyways

//

I’m not ready for
this
Take back those things you said
about my kids
and
about your wild teenage
years
I’m glad I only
knew you
for a
second
